For detection of Hydrogen Fluoride (HF) or Hydrochloric Acid (HCI) reactive gases, the Draeger X-am 5100 provides reliable, rugged constant monitoring. Simple two-button interface allows navigation of the control panel. A large LCD display provides gas level readout at a resolution of 0.1 ppm.

High-performance Draeger electrochemical sensors provides HF or HCI measuring in the range of 0-30 ppm. The X-am 5100 monitor is designed to prevent adsorption, or adhesion of the reactive gas particles to the unit. Gas level data is displayed quickly and accurately.

Particularly suited for monitoring in the petrochemical industry, the X-am 5100 protects workers with the standard three alarms: visual, vibration, and audible.

Three charging options are available. Alkaline AA batteries are the most basic. NiMH rechargeable batteries are also available in standard or high-capacity models.

Key Features:
  • Constant HF/HCI readout
  • Very light weight
  • Data logging standard
  • Reliable sensors
  • 0-30 ppm measuring range
  • IP54

    Draeger X-am 5100 Hydrogen Fluoride/Hydrochloric Acid Monitor

Does the monitor detect HCl and HF on one unit or do you have to buy two monitors--one for HCl and another HF?

An X-am 5100 monitor for HCL/HF can be used to detect either HCL or HF. You don't need a second monitor. Switching between target gases is accomplished through the CC-VISION software (Free) and USB IR Cable (Part# 8317409 IR COMM Cable) to establish connection.<br>
However if you have both gases present in one area the monitor can't distinguish between the two. While there are correction calculations that can be worked out, having both gases in one area will make it difficult to determine exact percentages.

I saw on a spec sheet for the XS EC HF/HCl that this sensor (used in the X-am 5100) also detects PCl3 and POCl3. what is needed for this?

The sensor you referenced can measure PCI3 and POCI3. The HCI sensor is cross sensitive to those gasses. Along with the standard calibration accessories it’s recommended to purchase a USB data link so the supplied software can be used to set the monitor to your exact requirements.
